The best part of summer for me is bonfires. You get to enjoy the outdoors while sitting around with friends and roasting (vegetarian!) marshmallows. My tips for the perfect bonfire are pretty simple, but it’s always those extra touches that make the night perfect.
First, make sure that you have supplies for s’mores that everyone can eat. If you have friends with dietary restrictions, grab some vegetarian marshmallows, GF graham crackers, dairy free chocolate — whatever you need so that no one is left out. You can buy these in addition to the traditional ingredients if you can’t give up your favorite milky chocolate. Most of the ingredients can be sealed up in a plastic bag and thrown in the freezer (or just stored in the pantry) until the next time you have guests if you know you won’t eat them. Then you’ll have everything on hand the next time someone stops by. Also make sure that you have separate marshmallow sticks if you have multiple kinds of marshmallows. Having some salty snacks (like chips or pretzels) is a great idea, too, to balance out all the sweets and to pair with your adult beverage of choice.
But those are the obvious ones, right? I think most people forget about having music. You can singalong, share your new favorite songs, or replay old favorites — I just like it loud! Some people try to turn their phone volume all the way, but it just sounds so bad! I get that no one wants to lug out a huge speaker or run some cords out to their bonfire pit (hello, camping? Not even possible) so I love the Lenovo™ 500 Bluetooth® Speaker.
It’s pretty tiny (less than 2 pounds), enough that I just threw it in the bowl of s’mores supplies to carry it out. Plus, we cranked the volume all the way up and it was perfectly clear! I’m sure my neighbors loved me, ha. Because of the shape, the sound fans out 270 degrees, so if you set it off to the side in the corner of your group, everyone will hear it perfectly. Set up was super easy, too. Josh synced his phone up, went to his favorite streaming app, and selected a summer party mix. Easy as that. I was pretty impressed with the range because Josh regularly wandered back up to the house and the music didn’t cut out until he was practically inside. We also got about 4 hours out of the rechargeable battery, which was perfect for us.
Ready to perfect your bonfire? Lenovo is teaming up with me to give away a speaker to one lucky reader! Enter in the Rafflecopter, below (may take a minute or two to load). Open to readers 18 years or older and residing in the US. I’ll notify the winner on Monday Aug 17th and you’ll have 24 hours to respond and claim your prize
