Nature’s Gate Giveaway
Are you sick of giveaways yet? I really hope not, because I have a few more coming your way. I normally talk about food here, but while looking to put good stuff into my body I realized I should care more about what I put on my body, as well. I did the no-shampoo thing for about a year (baking soda “shampoo” with a vinegar “conditioner”) and found that it just wasn’t working for me. I (and everyone else in my family) also have small red bumps on our upper arms – my dermatologist told me it may be a sensitivity to sodium laurel sulfate (or other sulfates) – so I started watching out for sulfates more closely, too. All of this comes to a head with today’s giveaway, and I’m really excited about it!
Nature’s Gate was sweet enough to send over some products for me to try, and is offering up the same package to one lucky winner! Enter in the Rafflecopter, below. Nature’s Gate is free of phthalates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, and animal derived ingredients – making it a vegan and natural choice. They also do not test on animals, which I know is important to a lot of people. These came in just before Father’s day and I’ve been using most of them daily since.
Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner: Love, love, love. I have very fine, sad hair. I mistreat and abuse it with dyes, blow dryers, and flat irons, plus it’s been falling out on me for years (yeah… I’m in my mid-20s. No bueno!). On Monday, I thought it must be really humid in the lab because my hair felt thick, so I went to check it in the bathroom. Nope! Hair looked perfect, it’s just actually feeling stronger and looking fuller. I couldn’t have expected better results – if you have fine hair, I demand you give this stuff a try!
Rose and Orchid Hand Creams: My biggest problem with lotion is how it sits on top of your hands, makes you sticky, and you smudge up your phone screen (I know, I live a hard life!). I’ve been using the rose hand cream daily and it doesn’t have that problem, my hands feel silky soft, but I can still touch my phone or open door knobs, no problem. The smell is also INCREDIBLE. Because there are no artificial scents, you get real flower smell – as if you had a vase of roses right next to you. The smell is a little strong at first, but after 5 or 10 minutes it settles down. The orchid smells just as amazing. In fact, I was standing next to my beautiful orchid when putting it on for optimal flower smelling experience, and it definitely checks out as having an authentic smell.
Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen and Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Face Sunscreen: If you haven’t ever seen a picture of my face, go check out my twitter. My skin is the color printer paper, so sun block has always been VERY important to me! I’ve never been a fan of the crazy chemicals and additives or the offensive smell, but I apply it religiously all summer long. While normally I prefer an SPF in the 85+ range (45 for my face), I’m willing to make an exception here. The facial sunscreen specifies non-greasy, but I found both to be very nice without an oily residue. I haven’t had a chance to try this as much as I would’ve liked, but I wore it on Father’s day and to an outdoor festival and didn’t get burned, so I’m going to give this my stamp of non-sunburning-approval.
I received free products for the purpose of review and the giveaway, but all opinions are my own. I’ve received no other compensation for this post. [And actually went out and spent money investing in their body washes, ha!] Giveaway is open to residents of the continental US, please see the Rafflecopter for any additional details.
