Hot dog buns (Rye if you can find them! I recommend using top split buns for easy assembly)
Instructions
Preheat oven to broil and heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat (If grilling, preheat grill).
Spritz the skillet or grill with nonstick spray and cook the sausages until hot.
Put each sausage in a bun and top with your desired amount of sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and Swiss cheese.
Place on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese is melty or place the buns on the small top rack of your grill and heat until melty.
Notes
Amounts for ingredients purposefully excluded -- this recipe easily adapts to serve 1 or 15 as long as you have enough sausages and buns! I recommend a couple of tbsps of cheese and kraut for each dog with a tablespoon of dressing. Nutritional estimates will vary based on your buns and portions of toppings.
