Smokey Hummus - Recipe Redux

Ingredients
  • 1½ c cooked chickpeas (15 oz can, drained and rinsed)
  • ¼ c tahini
  • ¼ - ½ tsp salt, to taste
  • 2 garlic cloves (can be whole, but remove the papery bits)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ c + 1 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika plus extra
  • ¼ tsp dried cumin
  • Couple of dashes of hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Blend until your desired consistency is reached, adding more water if necessary. Mine took a solid 5 or more minutes of processing to reach my preferred consistency, but it'll vary based on the power of your processor.
  2. Sprinkle with extra smoked paprika for serving.
