Sweet Mustard Pretzels
Author:

Ingredients
  • ⅓ c yellow mustard
  • ⅓ c liquid sweetener (such as honey, agave, or maple)
  • ¼ c extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp onion powder
  • 1 lb bag pretzels
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Spritz a large roasting pan (or several baking sheets) with nonstick spray.
  2. Whisk mustard, sweetener, oil, garlic, and onion until well combined.
  3. Empty the pretzel bag into the roasting pan and drizzle the sauce on top, stirring to coat evenly (if using baking sheets: mix in a bowl, then spread out on baking sheets. No need for single layer).
  4. Bake for an hour, stirring every 10 - 15 minutes. Note that the texture of hot pretzels will be a little strange -- the pretzels will regain a normal texture after cooling.
  5. Remove from oven and spread out in a single/thin layer to cool. Pretzels that are touching may stick together.
  6. Once cool, serve and enjoy. Store in a loosely covered container.
Notes
Nutritional estimate and number of servings will vary based on the specific pretzels you use, so I have not included one.
The pretzels will remain very slightly sticky on the outside even after cooled.
Strict vegans may avoid honey, so keep that in mind if serving to guests. Use GF pretzels for a GF snack.
