#FitTeaDetox Review

January 15, 2015

I get suckered into a lot of things I consider challenges — juice cleanses, GF/dairy/bread free weeks, free trials of diets — you know, normal health decisions that people regularly make. I consider them challenges to be conquered. And normally, I love them. The one thing I never, ever, ever enjoy? Gross, nasty, chunky drinks marketed as cleanses and detox drinks. But then I heard about FitTea: all natural, aids in tummy health, boosts energy and your immune system, and can even boost metabolism to help you burn fat. I couldn’t say no.

To say I was skeptical about trying FitTea would be putting it lightly. It’s a 14 day detox, so if it was disgusting, I’d be having a miserable 14 days. But I just can’t say no. The ingredients list looked pretty harmless (Organic Green Tea, Oolong Wu Yi, Organic Rooibos, Ginger, Pomegranate, Guarana, Birch, Stevia, Corn and Honey Powder) but did you notice there’s birch in there? As in like… tree bits? When I opened up the package, the first thing I noticed was the whole bits of corn (added for sweetness, I think) and not really any big twigs — off to a good start. Next I read the instructions and realized I actually brew this like tea. NO CREEPY CHUNKY BITS.

I poured myself a glass from the weird tea contraption I have (it was a gift and I love it, no idea what it’s called) and it smelled delicious. The taste? Also delicious. If you don’t like stevia it might be rough for you, though Josh normally doesn’t enjoy the taste of stevia and also thought it was delicious (he added a touch of honey). I didn’t notice the energy boost until Day 2 when I forgot to drink it in the morning and had it around 2 pm — bouncing off the walls the rest of the afternoon at work. It may be too soon to tell on any weight loss, but I will mention that basically everyone around me have basically turned into big bags of flu and cold virus, and I haven’t gotten sick. I’m going to call that a win. I always get sick in January *fingers crossed*. Without getting super TMI, I’ve previously had some chronic gastrointestinal issues and have been feeling pretty good the last few months, but I’ll have to give this another try if anything flares up again *ahhh fingers crossed!* because I’d love to see how it soothes my digestion.  Overall, I was pretty happy with this. It definitely followed through on the energy and it’s all around a tasty tea that I’d drink either way. Especially for the novelty of having chunks of corn in my tea. BTW, if you’re not into caffeine, they have a caffeine free version, too!

In the interest of full disclosure, I was sent a free package of FitTea for the purpose of review and was also compensated for my time. However, all opinions are my own.

I have been drinking lemon and ginger tea every morning and I have found that it is really making me feel so much better.

Ahhh, I love tea. Definitely my favorite warm drink. This tea would be nice to add to the tea swap that I am doing! You should definitely check it out: here!

I’m definitely intrigued by that mix of ingredients…the corn especially! Sounds pretty tasty for something with tree bark in it 😛
