Wildtree Giveaway

December 9, 2013

Happy Monday, everyone!  Okay. I get it. Mondays are not happy.  That’s why I have another giveaway to brighten up your day.  I’ve been sitting on this one a while, and I apologize.  Between my vacation and a series of household mishaps (why didn’t anyone warn me not to buy a house??), this just kept getting pushed back.

My coworker hosted a Wildtree freezer party back in October and while I couldn’t attend, Leah (you can get to Wildtree’s website there) was nice enough to send some samples my way and provide for a giveaway.  For those of you who haven’t heard of Wildtree, they offer certified organic spice blends, grapeseed oils, bread mixes, dips, and soup mixes that are free of preservatives, additives, and fillers while promoting a healthier lifestyle.  I don’t know about you, but that pretty much sums up how I like to eat pretty perfectly!

Lentil Pasta

The cool thing about the freezer party Leah arranged was that you mix up everything you need for a healthy dinner in a freezer bag, freeze, and thaw when you want to cook and eat it.  I received ingredients for a lentil spaghetti sauce which included Garlic Galore seasoning blend, Hearty Spaghetti Sauce blend, Mediterranean dry rub, and Roasted Garlic Grapeseed oil.  I pretty much only had to add onion and canned tomatoes.  When I was ready to make it, I stirred in some lentils, cooked for 20 minutes and had a delicious sauce I poured over penne.   She also sent over some pumpkin pie cheese cake blend that I added to cream cheese and sweetened Greek yogurt for a delicious dip I ate with graham crackers, pretzels, and apple slices.

I really loved both the pasta sauce and the dip.  I’ve made a lot of lackluster pasta sauces, but the spice blends really amped everything up.  The real star was probably the roasted garlic grapeseed oil.  It smelled AMAZING (I highly recommend everyone get their hands on it).  This was my first experience with grapeseed oil, but I’m pretty impressed that it’s made from grape seeds after wine production, so virtually no additional farmland is needed to produce it.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip

Before the giveaway, I have a couple extra offers Leah wanted me to pass along – anyone who wants to host a freezer party or tasting party of their own should contact Leah on Facebook so she can set you up; she’s even offering a free spice blend!  You can also contact her for information about signing up to be a representative, if you think you’d be interesting in selling these products – if you become a rep, she’s offering a free grapeseed oil.

Now for the giveaway!  One lucky winner will receive a free Smoked Mozzarella and Tomato Blend – one of her most popular sellers.  Leah recommends it with crackers, tossed with pasta, or as a marinade.  The giveaway is open to US residents, 18+.  Enter in the Rafflecopter, below (it may take a few minutes to load).

Hope your household mishaps weren’t too bad. This weekend we had our first disaster when we woke up Saturday morning. Water leaked from a broken line in the refrigerator ruining both our kitchen floor and garage ceiling. Oh lovely. It’s a mess. Hope your Monday is great! 🙂
